Even the difficult situations, especially the difficult situations, provide opportunities to learn about yourself and to grow. Instead of seeing these things as causes of heartache and pain, see them as part of the pathway back to yourself, your true self, the one you lost sight of long ago. The one you chose to bury, to deny, to abandon because of the pressures of society and the expectations of others. You are making your way back to yourself. It is as simple as that. The road may feel difficult, but I promise you it will be worth it.

Growing up, no one ever tells you how hard real life can be. No one tells you that the stories spun in fairy tales don’t reflect reality. No one tells you that you can work your a** off and still not achieve your goals. No one tells you that the people who should love you the most may very well hurt you, sometimes intentionally. No one tells you that you can try to accept others and love openly and still be rejected, still not find someone that accepts you and loves you back in the same way. No one tells you of the constant pressure to be more, to be less. No one tells you that the scrutiny you will face about who you are and who you are not will fill you with such overwhelming sadness, such heartbreaking shame, such immense pain, such intense longing to be different.
No one tells you that what you are meant to do, in the midst of all of this, is just be. Just be perfectly imperfect, just be confident that you are who you are, that you need not be anyone else but you. If you’re like me, you've spent years, decades, trying to be someone else, anyone else. But those efforts are futile. Because you were made to be exactly as you are. No more. No less.
So stop apologizing and making excuses. Stop shrinking yourself and dimming your light.
I see you. The Universe sees you. You are magical. You are magnificent.
